Golden Dragon Debuts Its All-New High-End Coach at Busworld Europe

05 October 2025

On October 4 (local time), Golden Dragon unveiled its brand-new flagship coach, the GC15, at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. The company also presented two additional models — the PIVOT E15 pure electric city bus and the GECKO pure electric light commercial vehicle.
GC15 — Power, Efficiency, and Safety in One

GC15 — Power, Efficiency, and Safety in One

The GC15 is Golden Dragon’s latest flagship coach, developed over the past 18 months. It stands out with three defining strengths: Super Power, Super Efficiency, and Super Safety.

Equipped with a 704 kWh CATL battery and dual high-speed motors, the GC15 delivers a maximum power of 500 kW and 4,800 N·m of torque. It can travel up to 600 km on a single charge — enough for a round trip between Brussels and Paris.

Its sleek aerodynamic design achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.365, among the best in its class, greatly improving energy efficiency. Combined with an intelligent energy recovery system, the GC15 further reduces energy consumption and maximizes performance.

Safety is another core focus. The GC15 features a Q700 high-strength steel frame, which boosts body rigidity by more than 13% while cutting overall weight by 10%. It is also fitted with a central safety gateway and domain controllers to ensure full compliance with the latest EU safety regulations, providing comprehensive protection for both structure and data.

PIVOT E Series — Proven Reliability Across Europe

The PIVOT E Series electric city buses have already built a strong reputation across Europe. More than 400 units are currently in service in 25 cities across 8 EU countries, including Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Each vehicle has logged over 350,000 km on average, demonstrating outstanding reliability and adaptability in diverse climates and environments.

GECKO — Expanding in the Light Commercial EV Market

With years of experience in the electric light commercial vehicle segment, Golden Dragon has already sold more than 25,000 units globally. The new GECKO represents the company’s latest step forward in this market.

The GECKO features a streamlined, bullet-shaped design, a skateboard chassis, and a modular structure. It supports L2-level assisted driving and delivers stable performance in extreme temperatures ranging from -35°C to 55°C, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of operating conditions.

Strengthening Its European Footprint

At the launch event, Peng Dongqing, Party Secretary and Chairman of Golden Dragon, noted that the coming years will be critical for Chinese bus manufacturers to compete in Europe’s high-end market — and that product quality will be the key to success.

He pointed out that while Chinese manufacturers have significantly narrowed the gap with leading European brands in production technology, premium marques such as Setra continue to lead in craftsmanship and precision — areas where Chinese companies will keep improving.

To better meet the needs of the European market, Golden Dragon has upgraded its R&D, production, supply chain, and after-sales systems. The debut of the GC15 is a major outcome of these efforts.

Building a Smarter Manufacturing System

Golden Dragon adheres to four key principles in product design — standardization, modularization, platformization, and generalization. For instance, the GC15 adopts a unified body frame structure that improves parts compatibility, boosts production efficiency, and simplifies maintenance.

At the company’s Longhai plant, new production processes have also led to major improvements in precision and efficiency. Previously, producing a 12-meter coach required 12–15 buckets of filler, but now only three are needed — a clear reflection of Golden Dragon’s advancements in craftsmanship and quality control.

Quality as the Foundation for Global Growth

According to Peng, sustained growth in overseas markets depends on delivering consistently high product quality. With comprehensive upgrades across all stages of development, the GC15 has achieved remarkable improvements in design, performance, and safety. The model has already drawn strong interest from international buyers and visitors.

“Golden Dragon will seize this valuable opportunity to expand globally,” Peng said. “We will continue to launch high-value products and strengthen our presence in the world’s high-end bus market.”
