Ankai Unveils Two New Electric Buses at Busworld Europe 2025
04 October 2025

Ankai has a long history with Busworld. Back in 2017, the company amazed the global industry with the world’s first 12-meter zero-emission electric double-decker open-top sightseeing bus. Now, Ankai returns to the same stage with the fourth-generation E12S double-decker, featuring eight major upgrades and a refreshed design for greener urban tourism.
E12S: Smarter, Safer, and More Comfortable
The E12S adopts Ankai’s new E-series front face design with elegant headlights and chrome accents. Its extended wheelbase and optimized chassis provide spacious seating for 50 passengers on the upper deck and 22+1 on the lower deck. The driver’s area features an adjustable control platform and a 10.1-inch smart display, while passengers enjoy USB ports, multilingual audio guides, and barrier-free access for a more comfortable ride.
Powered by a high-efficiency permanent magnet wheel-side motor, the E12S offers strong torque, low energy consumption, and excellent reliability. It supports 100% braking energy recovery, reducing total energy use by about 10%. Equipped with CATL high-density LFP batteries and an intelligent thermal warning system, the bus ensures safety and durability. It also complies with R155/R156 cybersecurity and software standards and integrates multiple driver-assistance features for higher safety.
E60: A Compact Smart Shuttle for Modern Cities
The new E60 electric minibus was also unveiled at the show. Designed around four key concepts — aesthetic design, smart technology, safety protection, and comfort — the E60 meets international certification standards. It features a high-strength steel structure, advanced safety systems, and flexible modular design. Inside, an integrated digital dashboard and smart cockpit screen provide a modern, user-friendly driving experience.
Both models have already attracted strong interest from potential customers. After the exhibition, they will head to Paris, where they will soon begin service on local city routes, bringing a cleaner and more comfortable travel experience to passengers in the “City of Light.”
Expanding Globally with Innovation and Quality

Today, Ankai buses are running in over 100 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia.‘
Since the beginning of 2025, Ankai’s overseas business has seen strong growth — from delivering 276 buses to four countries, to supplying 120 new energy buses for Kyrgyzstan’s green transport program, and now presenting new products at Busworld Europe. These milestones highlight the growing global strength of “Made in China.”
Looking ahead, Ankai will continue to focus on innovation and global expansion, working with partners around the world to promote smarter, greener, and more sustainable public transport solutions — and to share the brilliance of Chinese technology on the world stage.
