In 2025, after competing with several world-class international brands, Zhongtong Bus successfully secured a contract for 91 city buses in Dubai. This marks the first time a Chinese bus brand has entered Dubai’s public transportation system. Among these, the inclusion of 40 pure electric city buses represents the largest pure electric bus order ever placed in the history of the UAE, setting a new milestone for green transportation development in the Middle East.

Dubai is known for its "high-end, luxurious, and cutting-edge" market standards, with extremely stringent requirements for product quality, technical specifications, and reliability. Zhongtong Bus’s successful bid demonstrates how Chinese manufacturing is shifting from competing on “price advantage” to “value advantage.”

It is reported that all vehicles in this order are equipped with advanced intelligent systems, including driver behavior monitoring (Raqeeb), automatic passenger counting (APC), and electronic driver authentication. They also offer user-friendly features such as Wi-Fi, mobile charging ports, low-floor design, bicycle racks, and dedicated child seats.

Summer temperatures in Dubai can exceed 50°C, and sandstorms are frequent, placing high demands on the thermal management of batteries, sealing performance, and cooling systems of electric vehicles. These Zhongtong pure electric buses, customized for the extreme climate of the Gulf region, will serve as an important reference for public transportation operations in other high-temperature and arid regions around the world.

Previously, Zhongtong pure electric buses have entered high-end markets such as Portugal, Singapore, Denmark, and the Americas. This latest achievement—passing the rigorous evaluation of Dubai’s technical team—further confirms that Zongtong’s electric bus technology has reached top international standards, earning the brand a place in the global public transportation “premium club.”
