Recently, the carbon footprint certification and zero-carbon factory certification ceremony for CRRC Electric's products was held, with Gu Jiewei, the vice general manager and chief engineer of CRRC Electric, attending the ceremony.

This zero-carbon certification was strictly evaluated by the international authoritative certification body SGS in accordance with the ISO 14067:2018 standard. CRRC Electric was successfully certified as a "zero-carbon factory," and its two pure electric urban bus products, EU12 and EU08, officially obtained carbon footprint certification. This marks a crucial step for CRRC Electric in its transition to green and low-carbon development.

The carbon footprint calculation for the EU12 and EU08 models is based on the life cycle assessment (LCA) method, covering the entire life cycle of the products, including raw material acquisition, production, distribution, use, and disposal. Nearly ten thousand pieces of data were collected and processed. The calculation results show that the carbon footprint of the two products is 46% lower than that of similar products, which is better than the industry average.

As a practitioner of the "dual carbon" goals, CRRC Electric has empowered low-carbon transformation with digital technology and has established a green manufacturing system covering the entire life cycle of products. Its zero-carbon factory has achieved 100% clean energy supply, with solar-powered LED lights, a three-level 16-step sewage treatment system, and intelligent dust removal and noise reduction equipment integrated throughout the entire production process.

In addition, the dual-carbon digital management platform created by CRRC Electric can accurately track and intelligently control 15 major categories of carbon emission data, building a smart carbon emission control system for the entire value chain. The platform reduces carbon emissions by 9.156 million tons per year, equivalent to planting 52.272 million trees.

In the future, CRRC Electric will take this product carbon footprint certification as an opportunity to build more zero-carbon factories, improve the core functions of the digital energy and carbon management center, comprehensively enhance carbon management capabilities, and empower green and low-carbon development.
