On August 12, BYD Commercial Vehicles and JD Auto officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement at BYD’s headquarters in Pingshan, Shenzhen. The signing was witnessed by Tian Chunlong, General Manager of BYD Commercial Vehicles Division, and Wang Pei, Senior Vice President of JD Group.

General Manager Tian Chunlong stated that commercial vehicle electrification is now entering a fast track, with penetration rates growing from single digits to double digits. As the only commercial vehicle enterprise that has mastered the core new energy technologies of “three electrics and one chip,” BYD Commercial Vehicles, with its strong independent R&D capabilities and full industry chain layout, continues to enrich its product matrix to meet market demands. He expressed the hope that this signing will serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation through JD Group’s government and enterprise business platform, and further promote the application of new energy commercial vehicles in more scenarios.

Senior Vice President Wang Pei said that JD Auto has gradually grown into a strong government and enterprise business platform with significant performance growth and first-mover advantages. In the future, JD Auto will first promote BYD’s commercial vehicles in the energy and tobacco sectors. Leveraging JD Group’s strengths in insurance and supply chain management, they will empower the entire commercial vehicle chain and expand into more scenarios together.

In addition, both parties also discussed product onboarding, platform recommendations, and employee purchases. BYD Commercial Vehicles and JD Auto will firmly seize the opportunity for cooperation, and through leading products and first-class services, create greater value for users, the market, and China’s commercial vehicle industry.
