It is reported that CaetanoBus has secured a new contract worth €11.6 million from Porto’s public transport operator STCP to supply 30 e.City Gold electric buses. This marks the second consecutive year that CaetanoBus has won an order for the latest generation of zero - emission vehicles.
The vehicles are equipped with CATL’s BC5 battery technology, while the powertrain and key components are provided by China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC).
The e.City Gold electric bus is 12 meters in length and can accommodate up to 88 passengers. The vehicle is powered by CATL’s BC5 battery system with an installed capacity of 465 kWh. The BC5 technology, based on lithium - iron - phosphate (LFP) chemistry, supports fast - charging capabilities to meet the operational demands of dense urban networks.
