21 July 2025
Recently, a grand delivery ceremony was held at the Changbaishan scenic area, where Maxus, a brand under SAIC Motor, officially handed over 70 units of the new Maxus V80 to Changbaishan Tourism Co., Ltd. These vehicles will serve as the official shuttle buses for tourists traveling to and from the Changbaishan Tianchi scenic spot. This delivery not only deepens the long-standing strategic cooperation between the two parties but also enhances the travel experience for visitors nationwide with the "robust product capabilities" of the new Maxus V80, painting a new picture for the Northeast China tourism economy.
The new Maxus V80 is equipped with the award-winning "China Heart" Top 10 Engines—SAIC π 2.0T high-performance engine, which boasts a maximum power of 108 kW and a peak torque of 340 N·m, ensuring strong power output even on continuous uphill climbs and sharp bends. Moreover, its comprehensive fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is as low as 7.5 liters, effectively reducing the operating costs for the Changbaishan scenic area.
To tackle the challenge of the 72 hairpin bends, the new Maxus V80 features a suspension system with a front MacPherson strut and rear leaf springs, balancing load capacity and vehicle stability. Even on continuous hairpin turns, the vehicle can maintain precise tracking, reducing passenger discomfort. Additionally, the vehicle is standard-equipped with ABS + EBD + ESP body stabilization systems, in conjunction with a high-strength cage-type body, creating a "mobile safety fortress" for tourists.
In addition to being energy-efficient and safe, the new Maxus V80 also ensures the safety of passengers with "state-guest-level quality." So far, a total of 500 "Maxus vehicles" have been delivered to the Changbaishan scenic area, helping tourists from all over the country enjoy a high-quality travel experience.
The delivery of the new Maxus V80 to the Changbaishan scenic area is not the first time that SAIC Maxus has made a mark in the cultural tourism and transportation sector. Years ago, Maxus models had already become the business shuttles at the Zhangjiajie scenic area, winning market recognition with their reputation for "durability, reliability, and comfort." Earlier this year, the new Maxus V80 officially launched the 9AT version, becoming the first wide-body light commercial vehicle in China at its level to be equipped with the ZF 9AT transmission. With its "one-class-above" advantages in power, space, safety, and intelligent technology, it has become a favored "all-purpose vehicle" both domestically and internationally.
SAIC Maxus' light commercial vehicle products have now covered 73 countries and regions worldwide. The new Maxus V80, as a benchmark product in SAIC Maxus' light commercial vehicle market, has achieved success in both domestic and international markets with its "global quality." Domestically, the new Maxus V80 has become a popular choice for scenic area shuttles, tourism commuting, and business travel due to its high cost-effectiveness and adaptability to various scenarios. Overseas, the new Maxus V80 has been competing in markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and South America with "global vehicle" standards. Not only has it passed international certifications like EU ECE and Australian ADR, but it has also achieved annual sales of over 10,000 units in developed countries like Australia and New Zealand. It has become a quality representative of "Chinese intelligent manufacturing" in the eyes of local users, and is highly trusted and popular among overseas consumers for its high reliability and low operating costs.
