On July 10, 2025, the launch ceremony of the third-generation technology platform of the Cummins F Series and the 2 millionth unit of the light-duty engine were held at the Foton Cummins factory in Beijing.

The F Series engine is Cummins' first light-duty engine globally. At that time, China's commercial vehicles needed advanced light-duty power to bring about a revolution, and Cummins partnered with the Chinese light-duty commercial vehicle leader, Foton, to introduce this platform to China.

Since the first F3.8 engine was successfully ignited in Darlington, UK, in 2006, and officially mass-produced at Foton Cummins in 2009, the Cummins F Series has continuously evolved. It has subsequently introduced multiple products, including 2.5L, 2.8L, 3.0L, and 4.5L engines, and has continuously set new industry records: achieving annual sales of 100,000 units in four years, reaching the first million units in nine years, and completing the second million units in just seven years. At the event, the 2 millionth Foton Cummins F Series light-duty engine was officially launched, becoming the focus of the entire venue.
