BYD Delivers First Batch of 25 Electric Buses to Florence

On June 30, 2025, it was reported that BYD held a grand delivery ceremony in Florence, Italy, for the first batch of 25 electric buses. The official entry of these buses into service in Italy marks a milestone in BYD's collaboration to promote the electrification transformation of local public transportation.

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li said: "Bus electrification is a key path for cities to achieve sustainable development. This cooperation will bring real environmental improvement and travel benefits to the local area and help build a greener, cleaner and better urban transport future."

Florence City Transport Commissioner Andrea Giorgio said: "The introduction into service not only reduces urban pollution but also provides modern travel services. I look forward to more BYD electric buses becoming the main force of the future green fleet."

The 25 BYD electric buses K9UD delivered this time are 12 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 3.3 meters high, with a three - door design and a maximum passenger capacity of 85 people. They are also equipped with a manual accessibility ramp to ensure convenient travel for passengers. The buses are powered by BYD's high - safety blade batteries, with a battery capacity of up to 422 kWh and a range of 260 kilometers, meeting the high - intensity operation requirements of urban public transport.

The vehicles also integrate a number of advanced intelligent configurations, including the AVM system to improve operational efficiency, video surveillance systems to ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles from all aspects, and the Tip Tap contactless payment system.

The first batch of buses will serve routes 6, 20 and 23 in Florence, bringing a more comfortable, quieter and greener travel experience to citizens. In addition, the remaining 45 BYD buses will be delivered in 2026.
