26 June 2025

A delegation from the Beijing Public Transport Corporation (BPTC), headed by Chairperson Jin Qiuhong, visited the Mitino electric bus depot. The visit by the Chinese delegation was a reciprocal step following the recent trip by representatives of Mosgortrans to Beijing and marked a continuation of the dialogue between the largest surface public transport operators in Russia and China.

The guests received a comprehensive overview of how a modern electric bus depot functions in Moscow and toured all key areas of the Mitino depot, including:

· the maintenance zone

· the washing complex

· the dispatch center

· the medical room

The Chinese delegation also visited the Northern River Terminal, where they took part in a tour of the site and its historic building. A roundtable discussion was also held there, during which the leadership of Mosgortrans and BPTC discussed key aspects of urban public transport development, including approaches to designing electric bus route networks, the development of charging infrastructure and IT management systems, environmental benefits of introducing electric transport in Moscow, driver health monitoring methods, and prospects for further bilateral cooperation and knowledge exchange.

This open dialogue allowed both parties to gain a deeper understanding of the unique features of the transport systems in the two capital cities.

Beijing Public Transport Corporation (BPTC) is the world’s largest surface transport operator, managing over 20,000 buses — half of which are electric. The purpose of the visit to Moscow was to study the experience of operating electric transport, including the technology of using pantographs to charge electric buses.
