50 Golden Dragon New Energy Micro-Buses Officially Put into Operation

04 June 2025

On May 20th, Wuhai Public Transport Group in Inner Mongolia held a grand launch ceremony for the "Green Future, Smart Mobility" Wuhai New Energy Micro-Bus Initiative. A total of 50 new energy micro-buses from Golden Dragon, including 43 Chaoge pure electric buses and 7 Insight smart connected buses, were officially put into operation. Tailored to meet the urban public transit's "transition from large to small" and smart mobility demands, these Golden Dragon buses are set to offer Wuhai citizens a greener and smarter travel experience.

Among the newly deployed vehicles, the Golden Dragon Chaoge pure electric buses stood out for their "spaciousness." Despite a body length of only 7 meters, through an innovative short rear overhang design and an ultra-wide 2350mm body, they achieve a remarkable passenger capacity of 45-58 people, depending on seat configuration. Ms. Li, who was experiencing the new bus, remarked, "The cabin is much roomier than I expected, especially the flat-floor design, which makes pushing a baby stroller incredibly convenient."

The Insight series, designed for urban micro-circulation routes, exemplifies "small size, big wisdom." With a body length of 6 meters, it can navigate narrow streets with ease. Its 1200mm ultra-wide electric sliding door, combined with a low-entry, single-step design, facilitates boarding and alighting for the elderly and children. Mr. Wang, in charge of a micro-circulation route, said, "Driving this bus through the community is effortless, and the visibility is excellent, greatly enhancing safety."

The new buses are heavily equipped with intelligent features. The Chaoge series features a digital smart cockpit integrating a full LCD instrument cluster, electronic parking brake system, and other advanced devices. The Insight series innovatively adopts a "rabbit-ear rearview mirror" design with electric adjustment and heating functions. In terms of safety, both models are equipped with lane departure warning, forward collision warning systems, a 360-degree panoramic view system, and a one-touch glass-breaking door-opening mechanism, ensuring worry-free operation.

"Now, I can pay with my phone and check real-time bus arrival information. It's truly much more convenient," praised Mr. Zhang, a regular commuter who was impressed by the new buses' intelligent systems.

In addition to the greener and smarter new buses, the launch of Wuhai's public transit micro-circulation routes stands as another highlight of this public transportation upgrade. These micro-circulation buses can freely navigate through narrow streets, acting as the city's "capillaries" and reaching into every corner. They precisely connect residential areas, commercial districts, schools, hospitals, and other densely populated areas previously underserved by public transit, organically linking up with major transport arteries and enabling citizens to transfer more conveniently to regular bus routes.

These micro-circulation routes not only solve the "last-mile" travel dilemma but also incorporate local cultural characteristics. Creative route names like "1976," "520," and "Shahai Guanlan Line" were selected through a public naming campaign. The public transport group's relevant official in charge stated, "These names are memorable and have local characteristics, turning bus routes into mobile name cards for promoting urban culture."
