Three Major New Product Launches: Weichai's Gas Power 4.0 Family Expands

At the event, Weichai unveiled three new 4.0 family products for commercial vehicle gas engines: WP3NNG/WP8NG/WP16NG, demonstrating Weichai's unshakable strength in the field of gas engines.

The WP3NNG4.0 is Weichai's first gas engine for light trucks, developed for blue-plate composite cargo trucks in regions with abundant gas sources such as Xinjiang, Sichuan, and Inner Mongolia. It has a displacement of 2.97L, a rated power of 140Ps, and a maximum torque of 450N·m. Based on the Weichai WP3N diesel engine, it shares 95% of its parts. With a unique EGR system, its exhaust temperature is over 110℃ lower than competitors. The new gas system is designed to prevent impurities, with a maintenance cycle six times longer than competitors, and zero fault feedback from vehicles in operation. In terms of economy, it adopts weak tumble combustion technology and a proprietary ECU strategy, achieving an 8% lower comprehensive gas consumption than competitors. With high power, high reliability, and ultra-low gas consumption, the WP3NNG-4.0 will lead the blue-plate composite gas market in all aspects.

The WP8NG4.0 natural gas engine is designed for the truck and port transport tractor market, with a displacement of 8.2L, a maximum power of 350Ps, and a maximum torque of 1300N·m, comparable to mainstream diesel engines in power and performance, effectively addressing the issue of insufficient power in gas-powered trucks. In terms of economy, under standard load conditions, the vehicle's gas consumption is as low as 15.7kg per 100 kilometers. Assuming an annual operating mileage of 200,000 kilometers, it saves 80,000 yuan compared to diesel vehicles and 16,000 yuan compared to competitor gas vehicles. Additionally, the power upgrade improves operational efficiency by 10%. Furthermore, the product inherits Weichai's high reliability, fully meeting the needs of high-efficiency transportation industries such as express delivery and fresh food.

The WP16NG4.0 natural gas engine is designed for long-distance transportation scenarios with high power demands, such as mountainous areas in the southwest. With a displacement of 15.7L, a maximum power of 750Ps, and a maximum torque of 3400N·m, it is currently the world's most powerful natural gas engine. In terms of economy, upgrades have been made to both the engine itself and the powertrain. The engine adopts efficient intake technology, high-precision gas distribution technology, and strong tumble combustion technology. At the vehicle level, through optimized matching of the powertrain, the usage of efficient gears is increased, while the matching speed is reduced, resulting in a 6% reduction in vehicle gas consumption. Compared to diesel vehicles, it can save customers 150,000 yuan in fuel costs annually. Moreover, the WP16NG-4.0 engine not only has exceptional reliability but also superior braking performance, with a maximum braking power of 470kW, a 39% increase over competitors. This significantly increases downhill speed, reducing unnecessary tire wear and helping customers achieve higher transportation efficiency.

Full Series of Commercial Vehicle Power Batteries Launched, Blade Batteries Lead Industry Demand

In addition to its continuous leadership in traditional power products, Weichai's years of deep layout in the new energy field have finally yielded fruitful results. On December 3, Weichai unveiled its full series of new energy commercial vehicle power batteries for the first time in the industry, including fast-charging power batteries for medium and short-distance tractor trucks and fast-charging, long-life power batteries for light trucks. They utilize a new LFP blade battery and are the preferred choice for new energy commercial vehicles due to their "fast charging, lightweight, robust, and long-life" performance.

Weichai's fast-charging power battery for medium and short-distance tractor trucks is a standard 100kWh pack that can be connected in parallel to quickly expand to 200-600kWh, meeting the needs of heavy-duty tractor trucks, dump trucks, mixer trucks, and specialized vehicles. The standard pack uses a new LFP blade battery that does not smoke or catch fire when punctured, and features high-strength blade CTP assembly technology, with vibration testing exceeding the national standard by four times. The new product focuses on lightweight advantages, with the single pack being about 23kg lighter than competitors for the same energy. Additionally, it operates within a temperature range of -35℃～65℃, supports low-temperature charging at -20℃, and has 1C fast charging capability. With pre-lithiation technology, it achieves a cycle life of 2800/4500 cycles.

For light truck power batteries, Weichai unveiled a standard 140kWh pack, which is at the forefront of the industry in terms of energy. This battery uses pre-lithiation and efficient liquid-cooled temperature equalization technology, achieving a system cycle life of 4500 cycles. In terms of lightweight design, this 140kWh power battery is about 30kg lighter than competitors. For use in low-temperature environments, it also supports low-temperature charging at -20℃ and 2C fast charging, with the battery charging from 20% to 80% in just about 18 minutes.
