On the long corridor leading to the Haishe Ecological Park by Erhai Lake in Dali, a splendid scenery is quietly changing the way people travel. A fleet of colorful and technologically advanced autonomous driving buses run orderly and smoothly every day. These vehicles are not only an innovation in transportation but also the crystallization of deep integration between technology and intelligence, attracting tourists from all over the world to stop and eagerly board for a ride.

These autonomous driving buses are jointly created by Golden Dragon Bus and Mogo Auto, and have been gradually deployed since November 2022. Today, they have formed a smart fleet of over 40 buses, showcasing the limitless possibilities of autonomous driving technology and allowing tourists to deeply experience the wonders brought by cutting-edge technology.

"We started cooperating with Golden Dragon Bus in 2019, from the initial launch of the Golden Dragon ASTAR autonomous driving bus as the first in China in the 1.0 phase, to the deep technical integration in the 2.0 phase to create the Golden Dragon INSIGHT autonomous driving bus, and then to the 3.0 phase with the introduction of the MOGOBUS autonomous driving bus based on the Golden Dragon INSIGHT model. Together, we have created the world's first autonomous driving bus equipped with a 'vehicle-road-cloud integration' system, achieving a significant technological breakthrough. These technological accumulations are well reflected in the Dali project," said Zhan Hongbo, Vice President of Mogo Auto, with pride and anticipation when discussing the demonstration operation of the autonomous driving buses jointly developed with Golden Dragon Bus on Erhai Lake in Dali.

"Currently, there are thirty to forty Golden Dragon autonomous driving buses operating in Dali, including the Golden Dragon ASTAR, Golden Dragon INSIGHT, and MOGOBUS models. You can see these buses on the road; they are not only beautiful but also highly comfortable, aligning perfectly with the positioning of a technological scenic spot. The new generation of MOGOBUS models, in particular, exudes a strong sense of technological fantasy," he added.

The demonstration operation of autonomous driving buses on the Erhai Lake Ecological Corridor is a typical example of a smart park. Here, Golden Dragon autonomous driving buses will challenge various complex road conditions, including a 136-kilometer route with numerous curves and mixed passenger flows, to achieve normalized L4-level autonomous operation.

This is also the first 'intelligent connectivity + smart tourism' ecological demonstration area in the southwest region. After more than two years of operation, the buses have achieved zero accidents and stable, normalized operation, receiving high praise from passengers. They have become a popular tourist attraction and a must-experience project for visitors to Erhai Lake in Dali," said Zhan Hongbo. Golden Dragon autonomous driving buses have attracted a large number of tourists to visit and experience, shaping a new growth point for smart tourism in Dali. In September this year, the buses even served as shuttle buses for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Dali Ethnic Film Week, providing guests with a profound experience of the wonders brought by intelligence.
