HIGER Partners with Mowasalat to Establish Qatar's Leading Chinese Bus Brand

On August 25, the 20th Anniversary of Mowasalat Qatar & the 18th Anniversary of Cooperation Celebration grandly took place in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The event was attended by HE Jassim Saif A. Al-Sulaiti, Qatari Minister of Transport; Yang Song, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the State of Qatar; HE Dr. Eng. Saad Bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, Chairman of Mowasalat; Mr. Ahmad Al-Obaidly, CEO of Mowasalat; Mr. Ahmed Almuftah, CAO of Mowasalat; and Managing Director Huang Shuping, Deputy Managing Director Leo Zheng, Service Director Xie Jianghong, and Overseas General Manager Gary Jiang of HIGER; as well as relevant personnel from both companies and media representatives. The event, themed "Visioning the Dream", highlighted Mowasalat's remarkable achievements and celebrated the long-standing partnership between HIGER and Mowasalat.

The year 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of Mowasalat and the 18th anniversary of its cooperation with HIGER. At the event, Huang Shuping reviewed the long-standing partnership between the two companies and looked forward to bright prospects for development. He praised Mowasalat for its extraordinary accomplishments over the past 20 years. Speaking of the cooperation journey with Mowasalat, he said, "I met the first Mowasalat delegation on May 30, 2006, 18 years have passed, but it seems like yesterday."

Huang Shuping also highlighted HIGER's efforts in advancing public transportation technology. "As a global leader in the bus industry, HIGER has increased its investment in research and development in recent years, launching the latest V series, F series, and Sky train. Our goal is to provide our partners and customers with more valuable products and solutions."

At the event, Hamad Ali Al Marri, Director of the Land Transport Licensing Department of the Ministry of Transport of Qatar, delivered a speech on behalf of the Ministry. He commended Mowasalat for its outstanding achievements in the transportation sector and acknowledged its long-standing partnership with HIGER. He hoped that Mowasalat would further enhance its cooperation with HIGER to drive innovation and maintain its leading position in the transportation industry, while working together to create a sustainable and prosperous future.

In his speech, Ahmad Al-Obaidly expressed his gratitude for the trust and support of HIGER. HIGER buses have been used for various purposes in Qatar: safely transporting primary and secondary school students to school every day, providing shuttle services for corporate and event customers, and ensuring smooth transportation of fans between nine stadiums during the 18th Asian Cup in 2024.

Gary Jiang delivered a keynote speech titled "Visioning the Dream", focusing on the history of the partnership between HIGER and Mowasalat, product and sales breakthroughs in recent years, and the future direction of their partnership. Since the successful deployment of 500 HIGER buses for the Doha Asian Games in 2006, the cooperation between the two companies has been deepening. Today, HIGER's range in Qatar covers vehicles from 6 to 18 meters, including urban buses, shuttle buses, tourist buses, school buses, and specialized vehicles.
In recent years, HIGER has consistently invested in product research and development, achieving a comprehensive upgrade of its product lines. The new V series buses, launched in 2024 for the global market, will be introduced to Qatar first, injecting new vitality into the local public transportation system.

Looking back on the past years, HIGER and Mowasalat have overcome numerous challenges together and achieved many significant milestones. At the event, Huang Shuping presented Ahmad Al-Obaidly with a trophy for Best Partner, while Leo Zheng presented Engr. Hamad Issa Abdullah, Assistant Deputy Director of the Road Affairs Department of the Ministry of Transport of Qatar, with the key symbolizing win-win cooperation.
