Why did Hangzhou Changyun Choose Zhongtong Bus?
12 August 2024
In 2023, the 19th Asian Games were successfully held in Hangzhou. As the commercial vehicle supplier for the Asian Games, Hangzhou Changyun once again introduced Zhongtong's new-generation tourist group product, the H9, and successfully completed the transportation support tasks for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. Zhongtong buses became a beautiful scenery line among various Asian Games venues, the Asian Games Village, service hotels, and Xiaoshan and Pudong airports, which also served as a microcosm of the joint development between Zhongtong Bus and Hangzhou Changyun.
What is the reason for Hangzhou Changyun's preference for Zhongtong buses? Why has Hangzhou Changyun's business continued to thrive? Recently, the reporter interviewed Shi Yonghui, the deputy general manager of Hangzhou Changyun Tourism Company.
"What impresses us most about choosing Zhongtong buses is their outstanding fuel efficiency, which is very attractive to us," Shi Yonghui said bluntly.
In 2020, Hangzhou Changyun purchased three models of Zhongtong buses with 37, 48, and 56 seats, benefiting from their leading low fuel consumption advantages. Later, Hangzhou Changyun continuously introduced new models, including the "New Shijia 6139, 6126, and Shiteng 6116." Over the past three and a half years, Hangzhou Changyun has owned 102 Zhongtong buses, with drivers reporting fuel efficiency, stability, and reliability.
Hangzhou Changyun has a history of over 70 years since its establishment. With the continuous adjustment of its business, it established a passenger transport and tourism company in 2002 to further explore the passenger transport market. At that time, buses were still the main mode of transportation connecting two cities and achieving commuter connections. For example, passenger transport buses from Hangzhou to Shanghai were the main business of Hangzhou Changyun. Later, with the emergence of new transportation modes such as high-speed rail, road passenger transport was impacted. Hangzhou Changyun chose to focus on the tourism market and achieved a successful transformation. Over the years, Hangzhou Changyun has developed into one of the top 100 enterprises in national road transportation and is also a leading enterprise in Zhejiang Province's road transportation industry.
"Choosing the right vehicle can not only reduce enterprise operating costs but also enhance the corporate brand image with good products." In January 2024, Hangzhou Changyun participated in a fuel-saving competition organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Road Association. Two drivers from Hangzhou Changyun drove the Zhongtong H9 and the new Shijia 6126 models and set the lowest fuel consumption records for the two models in China.
"In actual use, the Zhongtong H9 consumes 2-3L/100km less fuel than other products," Shi Yonghui believed that low fuel consumption is an advantage of Zhongtong's industry chain, with the efficient Weichai engine, Fast gearbox, and Hande axle forming an integrated power chain that sets a benchmark for high efficiency and fuel savings.
The Zhongtong new-generation H9 model introduced by Hangzhou Changyun in 2023 is developed based on a new-generation tourist group coach platform. The entire vehicle adopts a lightweight and integrated design, providing more space and higher comfort.
In 2024, Shi Yonghui believes that the Hangzhou tourism market will continue to recover. Shi Yonghui stated that the current tourism market faces challenges such as difficulty in parking at tourist attractions, urban congestion, and narrow alleys that are hard to navigate. The Zhongtong H9 has optimized its turning radius, making it agile and well-suited to the practical needs of Hangzhou Changyun.
"Comfort is crucial for tourist coaches. The Zhongtong H9 has a spacious cabin with an environmentally friendly soft top that not only insulates heat but also effectively reduces noise. The open luggage rack, pull-down curtains, and other high-speed rail configurations further enhance the travel experience for tourists," Shi Yonghui said.
"At the beginning of this year, we introduced a 12-meter Zhongtong coach with 33+1 seats. We upgraded the traditional 2+2 layout to 2+1 airline business seats, specifically customized for the high-end tourism market," In 2024, the tourism market is thriving. As a well-known tourist city in China and an important hub city in the Yangtze River Delta region, Hangzhou attracts many domestic and foreign tourists. "This year, we have many foreign tourist groups, and their feedback has been excellent. We believe that in the future, tourist buses will gain more favor from foreign tourists."
Over the years, Hangzhou Changyun has continuously explored new vehicle usage scenarios. Customized services and products for large conference transfers, travel agency sightseeing tours, campus commuter connections, event buses, etc., not only meet customer vehicle needs but also contribute to the prosperity of Hangzhou Changyun's development.
