Inside the assembly workshop of Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Dongfeng Cummins), engines line up on the production line, with busy material trolleys shuttling around. This national-level "Green Factory" is fully engaged in manufacturing products for orders on all production lines.

Since the beginning of this year, Dongfeng Cummins has shown a robust trend of strong production and sales, with a daily production capacity of 800 to 1,000 units and an expected annual capacity of 254,000 units. In the first half of the year, the company achieved sales revenue of 5.54 billion yuan, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year, with sales volume reaching 101,700 units and AMT sales reaching 7,594 units.

Dongfeng Cummins is a joint venture established by Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Cummins (China) Investment Co., Ltd. with a 50:50 ratio. It mainly produces Cummins 150-680 horsepower vehicle engines and 60-770 horsepower non-road engines, serving as a leading engine manufacturing base in China.

Engines are known as the "heart" of automobiles. Currently, Dongfeng Cummins engines have five major application markets: trucks, buses, engineering machinery, power generation, and marine engines. Its customers include Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, as well as JAC Motors, Shaanxi Automobile, Yutong, and Zhongtong Buses.

In recent years, Dongfeng Cummins has seized the new trend of hybrid electric vehicles in the new energy vehicle sector and developed hydrogen internal combustion engines and low-carbon and zero-carbon fuel technology internal combustion engines.

In the exhibition hall of Dongfeng Cummins, reporters saw the company's developed hydrogen fuel cell power system, which can provide efficient power for heavy-duty vehicles with high usage frequency and high energy demand, meeting zero-emission requirements. Leveraging reliable internal combustion engine technology, the company has developed a hydrogen internal combustion engine fueled by green hydrogen, providing customers with sustainable carbon reduction solutions.

"Currently, Hubei's first hydrogen energy ecological demonstration line has begun operations, forming a 278-kilometer-long Han-Yichang hydrogen energy corridor," said a relevant person from Dongfeng Cummins. With the rapid establishment of hydrogen energy infrastructure in the province, the company is also poised to embrace valuable opportunities for hydrogen energy commercialization, and its related hydrogen energy industry layout is expected to accelerate.

Benefiting from its excellent products and low-carbon development philosophy, Dongfeng Cummins' products have been recognized by overseas customers. Currently, out of every 100 engines produced by the company, 58 are shipped abroad as part of complete vehicles/machines or as standalone units, and its overseas business is still in a state of rapid growth. Last year, Dongfeng Cummins' products were exported to over 100 countries and regions, including Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and other places.
