BYD Wins Electric Bus Order from Azerbaijani Government

04 July 2024

Recently, BYD successfully won the bid for the electric bus procurement project of the Azerbaijani government, securing a sales order for 160 12-meter K9UD electric buses, and plans to start shipping them to Azerbaijan in batches this month.

Under the framework agreement, apart from the order of 160 buses, the Azerbaijani government will also procure 200 electric buses from BYD annually from 2025 to 2028, with plans for local assembly. In the future, both parties intend to explore deeper cooperation in local production. This November, the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and these electric buses will also contribute to the green and low-carbon hosting of COP29.
