Higer Super Fast Charging City Buses to Revolutionize New Energy Bus Market
30 April 2024
On April, 23, a batch of 10 units super fast charging city buses powered by titanate lithium batteries officially started operation in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province. To back up their smooth operation, advanced and intelligent charging facilities were also put into service. Leaders of Higer, together with a number of distinguished guests, witnessed the historical moment.
As the very first batch of super fast charging city buses in commercial operation in China, they represent a huge step step forward in China’s new energy bus industry and a new cornerstone for Higer’s relentless efforts in technological innovation.
Higer’s super fast charging city bus powered by titanate lithium batteries has a unique charging system. By cutting the weight of its battery system, the bus successfully loses its weight and cuts its energy consumption. Fully adaptable in different working environments with a wide temperature range, it works smoothly in extremely harsh conditions.
According to Higer, the super fast charging titanate lithium battery on its buses can get fully recharged from zero amount of energy in just 10 minutes. With such a competitive charging efficiency, it helps bus operators substantially cut the costs of building recharging facilities. In addition, it has a fairly long lifespan and can endure over 3,000 times of repeated recharging and discharging, fully meeting the demanding requirements for urban public transportation. Plus, achieving a high reliability, Higer super fast charging city bus helps bus operators cut their operation and maintenance costs.
Thanks to the bow pantographs which are automatically controlled, Higer super fast charging bus does not need manual labors for recharging, furthering improving its recharging efficiency.
After putting Higer’s hydrogen powered buses into service in 2018, Zhangjiagang is making another big move forward by introducing Higer’s super fast charging city buses, showcasing the city’s big vision for a greener and more convenient public transport network. Zhangjiagang Gangcheng Public Transport Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Gangchang Public Transport) is committed to providing passengers with safe, efficient, convenient and comfortable public transport services. Currently, the bus operator boasts a fleet of 120 units electric city buses.
