Cummins New Energy Products on Display at the Sixth China Int'l Hydrogen Energy & Fuel Cell Technology & Product Exhibition

21 November 2022

At the sixth China International Hydrogen Energy & Fuel Cell Technology & Product Exhibition held in Foshan on November 15, Cummins brought all its new energy products on display, showcasing its comprehensive clean and zero-emission power solutions for customers. Sun Zhiyang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, visited Cummins’ exhibition booth, making inquiries on the latest development of the company’s hydrogen energy technologies.

On display are Cummins’ water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment, two different modules of hydrogen fuel cells for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, and high-pressure hydrogen storage & transportation system, etc. Cummins 200kW+ hydrogen fuel cell, one of the company’s latest major breakthroughs, officially made its debut. Built on the huge success of its predecessors, the new generation of hydrogen fuel cell has further optimized its structure and control, cold start system and heat management system. Delivering consistently reliable performance, the hydrogen fuel cell is an ideal power solution for long-distance artery logistic lines and heavy-duty transportation tasks.

Particularly designed and developed for Chinese market, Cummins HD120 has gone through 10,000 km test and 2,500 hours of DVPR endurance test. According to sources, it will soon hit the market for demonstration operation.

Cummins hydrogen fuel cells can be widely used on city buses, trucks, rail transport, ships, etc. So far, over 400 sets of Cummins hydrogen fuel cells have been put into service in China and over 2,000 sets of them across the world. In China, Cummins’s first batch of PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment HyLYZER-500 has been put into operation in many hydrogen energy demonstration zones, including Sinopec’s first first MW-level water electrolysis hydrogen demonstration production project and China Three Gorges Group’s hydrogen energy demonstration project in Puyang, Henan Province.

In 2021, Cummins and Sinopec made an equal amount of investment and established Cummins Enze (Guangdong) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Scheduled to start operation in 2023, the joint venture will be specialized in producing and marketing Cummins HyLYZER 200-1000 PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment with an annual production capacity expected to reach 1,000 MW when in completion.

Committed to growing locally, Cummins was developing robustly in China in the past 40+ years. To further strengthen its business presence in the new energy field, its New Energy Power Headquarters & New Energy Power R&D Center in Shanghai is scheduled to complete its construction in 2023.
