Ankai Autonomous Driving Buses in Regular Operation for Five Months in Hefei

Five months ago, Anhui’s first autonomous driving bus route 5G+C-V2X with a one-way distance of 15 km officially started operation in Baohe District, Hefei. So far, Ankai’s third generation L4 autonomous driving buses, which are the carriers on the route, have been working smoothly for five months.
Similar to a regular city bus, Ankai autonomous driving bus is equipped with C-V2X OBU and is able to drive at a speed of 30 km/h. With a spacious interior, it is able to load over ten passengers. During the test, a simple act of pressing the “start” button can activate Ankai autonomous driving bus, performing complex driving tasks in real traffic conditions.
“We have already built a brand new interactive road system with 24-hour internet connection. Now, we plan to complete a driving test of 1,000 km within one month”, said the person-in-charge. “Soon, citizens in Hefei can reserve their transportation services on WeChat on their smart phones”, he added.
