The Business of GM in China Sounds Good
13 May 2009
The sales in China of General Motors last month soared 50 percent with 151,084 units. GM's minivan joint venture, SAIC-GM-Wuling, has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of Chinese government policies aimed at encouraging purchases of small cars and minivans. Wuling minivan sales surged 60.6 percent from a year earlier in April, to 95,544 units.
According to GM long-term development plan shows that it aims to double sales in China to about 2 million units a year within the next five years.
