Foton AUV Buses Go Through Stringent Tests Before Service
18 July 2022
Every Foton AUV bus are required to go through several stringent tests before its service. What are those stringent tests about? Now, let us take a closer look.
1) Working in waters with a depth of 30 cm: To pass the test, Foton AUV bus has to drive in waters with a depth of 30 cm at a speed of 5-10 km/h for 500 meters. With its power off, it has to immerse itself in waters with a depth of 50 cm for 24 hours. Then, it still work smoothly.
2) Working in environment with high temperatures and high humility: The test is held in Qionghai, Hainan province. With a temperature of over 35℃ and a humidity of 40%~95%, Foton AUV electrics bus is exposed to the scorching sun for hours. Then, it is tested for its adaptability, power performances, fuel economy, battery system, driving system, air conditioning system.
3) Working in environment with extremely low temperatures: The test is held in Yakeshi Testing Center, Hailar, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. With a temperature below -30℃, Foton AUV electric bus is put in still mode for over 40 hours. Then, it starts to operate and is still able to climb a slope with an angle of 20 degree on snowy and icy roads. Also, its acceleration system, braking system, battery system and air-conditioning system all work smoothly. Data also show that it can increase the temperature on board from -30℃ to 19℃ in just 30 minutes. It also works smoothly even when temperatures drops to between -20℃ and -30℃.
4) Collision test: To pass the test, Foton AUV hydrogen fuel cell bus, driving at a speed of 53 km/h, collides with a barrier with a mass of 1.4 tons. The hydrogen fuel cells, the most vulnerable part on the vehicle, show no signs of leakage, fully demonstrating its high reliability.
