According to China’s seventh National Population Census conducted in 2021, China’s population of senior citizens (60 and above) exceeded 264 million, accounting for 18.70% of the total population.
Recently, China’s Ministry of Transport officially released Working Framework on Promoting Senior-Friendly Transportation Services in 2022. According to the framework, efforts will be made to promote buses with low floor access and other senior-friendly features.
As one of the leading players in China’s bus making industry, Ankai is always committed to providing more convenient and more comfortable travel services for passengers.
In response to growing number of senior passengers, Ankai has built more buses with low floor access to facilitate boarding for seniors. In addition, it has further optimized the handrails on board and adopted more comfortable leather or cloth seats. With a special boarding ramp, Ankai buses further facilitate boarding for passengers confined to wheelchairs.
Currently, Ankai boasts a wide spectrum of buses with low floor access measuring 8.5-meter to 18-meter in length. In addition, it has successfully developed low-floor buses with a length range between 5.9-meter and 6.5-meter for short-distance travels within communities.
With a growing popularity across China, Ankai buses with low-floor access have been working smoothly in many cities, including Guangzhou, Chongqing, Haikou, Hefei, Guilin, Yantai, Sanya, Suining, etc.
In Yantai, Shandong Province, Ankai 12-meter electric city buses with low floor access and wider aisles have been operating smoothly on two major bus routes No.5 and No.43 in the city. In Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, Ankai buses with low floor access have greatly improved the local residents’ travel experience.
