18 April 2022

According to the latest statistics released by Golden Dragon, the bus maker’s sales revenue reached 791 million RMB in the first quarter in 2022, up by 12.3% year on year.

Despite resurging cases of COVID-19 since the start of this year, Golden Dragon rolled out a series of effective measures. All Golden Dragon employees stayed in Xiamen during China’s spring festival so as to reduce the flow of people. In addition, it raised the pay for all production workers after resuming its production in early February this year. By checking all employees’ body temperature, their health code and travel code, the bus maker successfully kept COVID-19 at bay.

In 2021, Golden Dragon delivered an impressive performance with its export revenue reaching 280 million USD, a new record high. It particularly strengthened its presence in Belt & Road countries and regions. Moreover, the bus maker launched KD projects in over ten countries, aiming to further integrate into local economy and provide more customized transportation solutions for its overseas customers.

On March 31, Golden Dragon Astar autonomous driving bus officially obtained operation permit and started service in the autonomous driving areas in Beijing.

As a new generation of autonomous driving bus, Golden Dragon Astar is able to perform a number of complicated tasks, including autonomous cruising, V2X vehicle-road coordination and AVP. So far, it has already gained great popularity in China with its total sales volume reaching 100 units and its total mileage reaching one million km.

On March 15, Golden Dragon received a thank-you letter from the Transportation Department of the Organizing Committee of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. During the sports event, Golden Dragon bus fleet and its after-sales service team ensured the smooth flow of athletes, referees and volunteers. In addition, Golden Dragon CT-scanning vehicles and other medical vehicles were designated at various competition venues, providing essential medical services to all athletes.

In earlier March this year, 72 units Golden Dragon coaches were once again designated as the carriers for China’s annual NPC and CPPCC sessions, also known as the “Two Sessions”. It also marks the 25th consecutive year for the bus maker to serve such a high-profile event in China.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, Golden Dragon immediately responded to the government’s call and developed negative pressure ambulances, nucleic acid testing vehicles, vaccine transportation vehicles, CT-scanning vehicles and other medical vehicles, all of which have been playing a pivotal role in cities across China in fighting against the infectious virus.
