Golden Dragon Rolls Out More Elderly-Friendly Buses & Coaches
10 March 2022
On March 4, the annual China’s National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) officially kicked off in Beijing. In the State Council’s work report, suggestions were put forward to create a more friendly environment for the elderly people in China, including building more barrier-free facilities, upgrading facilities for public transport, communities and families, etc.
As of the end of 2019, China had 250 million elderly people. It is estimated the percentage of elderly people in China will increase to one third of the country’s total population. Against such a backdrop, the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party (CPC) and China’s State Council rolled out a plan to build a stronger transportation network. In 2021, some delegate proposed that more efforts should be made to build a more elderly-friendly public transport network, such as improving the accessibility of passengers with wheelchairs and canes and improving the travel comforts for the elderly people.
As one of the leading bus makers in China, Golden Dragon is fully committed to developing bus & coach products with higher friendliness to the elderly.
