On November 25, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released China’s fifth batch of State-level Industrial Design Centers, including King Long Industrial Design Center. Since its establishment in 2012, King Long Industrial Design Center has already won the gold award of China’s Design Red Star Award, the best work of China Design & Intelligent Manufacturing.

So far, King Long Industrial Design Center has participated in designing several fist products, including Jieguan series coaches, Longwin series coaches, city buses, Apolong autonomous driving buses and intelligent bus stations.

Apart from State-level Industrial Design Center, King Long has also been recognized as China’s Technological Innovation Demonstration Enterprise and China’s Experiment Center and Post-doctoral Work Station.

Industrial design, which plays a vitally important role in the manufacturing sector, is essential for manufacturers to further integrate services and innovation into their business. Since 2013, MIIT has been selecting China’s State-level Industrial Design Centers every two years to promote the sound and sustainable development of China’s industrial design.

According to Fujian provincial government, it aims to build 100 provincial-level industrial design centers and over 20 state-level industrial centers by 2023. Currently, the province has 25 State-level Industrial Design Centers, ranking the fourth place among all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
