King Long Apolong II Autonomous Driving Buses Start Operation on an Eco-island in Taihu Lake

Recently, a batch of King Long Apolong II autonomous driving buses officially started operation on an eco-friendly island in Taihu Lake. As a part of the island’s huge efforts to build itself as China’s first eco-friendly island to promote autonomous driving vehicles.

At the recent Intelligent & Connected Technology Development Forum held at Taihu International Conference Center, Taihu eco-friendly island became the first island in China to promote autonomous driving vehicles. Invited to take a ride on Apolong II autonomous driving buses participants spoke highly of the highly intelligent vehicles. According to King Long, it will strengthen its marketing efforts and put more Apolong II into commercial service, providing greener and smarter travel solutions for people.

Having inherited all the strengths of its predecessor, Apolong II achieves higher maneuverability and is more adaptable to demanding working environment. By introducing more advanced braking system and an auxiliary brake, the bus has further improved its overall safety standards.

Since July 2018, King Long’s Apolong autonomous driving bus has been put into commercial operation in 38 autonomous driving vehicle pilot operation zones across China. As of July this year, it has accumulated a total mileage of over 140,000 km and provided transportation services for over 120,000 passengers.
