According to the data released by Marklines, the sales volume of new energy vehicles jumped from 116,000 units in 2012 to 3.24 million units in 2020, showing the demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles has been growing robustly.

In 2019 and 2020, Foton AUV 12-meter hydrogen fuel cell intercity bus equipped with U Heat Management Technology was put into test in Hailaer when the local temperature dropped to -25℃~-30℃. When the fuel cell batteries delivered 75% of its power for the bus, the heat generated fully provided the required heat for the bus.

According to the data collected on K2 Line in Zhangjiakou, the 12-meter Foton AUV hydrogen fuel cell city bus equipped with U Heat Management Technology cut the vehicle’s energy consumption by 7.6% and helped the bus operator save hydrogen fuel costs by 46.4 RMB per day.

So far, U Heat Management Technology has been widely used on Foton AUV 9-meter, 9.5-meter, 11-meter and 12-meter hydrogen fuel cell buses.

Unlike the heat management systems for fossil fueled vehicles, the heat management system for new energy vehicles covers the batteries, electric motors, electric controls, air-conditioning systems, etc. Thus, it requires sophisticated technologies and is the key to the success of new energy vehicles.

As one of the only two bus makers in China which have developed heat management technologies, Foton AUV has been reaping enormous benefits from its advanced technologies.

In 2020, 80 units Foton AUV hydrogen fuel cell buses equipped with U Heat Management Technology were put into operation to serve “Meeting in Beijing” Winter Sports Games.
