BYD Electric School Buses Start Operation in Los Angeles

Recently, BYD electric D-type school buses officially started operation in Los Angeles.
According to BYD, the D-type school bus measures 35 feet, 38 feet or 40 feet in length. With a maximum loading capacity of 84 students, it is able to drive 250 kilometers continuously.
Compared with diesel powered school bus, BYD electric school bus is able to help its customer cut their fuel costs by 60%. Moreover, it further reduces its maintenance costs by 60%.
“We have made visible progresses in such major areas as design, quality, technological innovation and driving mileage, providing safer and more comfortable travel services for school children”, revealed Li Ke, BYD North America.

So far, the accumulated mileage of BYD electric buses has exceeded 15 million miles in the US. In addition, over 1,000 units BYD electric buses have been sold in the country. UCLA and the Bureau of Transportation in California are just two examples of many customers of BYD.
