18 May 2017
www.chinabuses.org: On May 14 and 15, the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing. The two-day event has already generated concrete results, providing many opportunities for wider communities.
What measures have Golden Dragon taken to respond to China’s ambitious One Belt One Road Initiative? Peng Dongqing, Deputy General Manger of the company points out that the company has been taking a host of proactive measures to strengthen its presence in the overseas market. Having accumulated rich bus manufacturing & marketing experience, Golden Dragon is now well prepared to compete with its international rivals.

Having long recognized internationalization as one of its key development strategies, Golden Dragon is aiming to up its exports to over 25% of its overall sales. Confident and determined, the bus maker is fully aware of all those challenges that lie ahead and believes that its high craftsmanship and attentiveness to its customers will usher its way on the international stage.
Jiang Yonghui, Director of Golden Dragon Overseas Marketing Department, says that China’s launch of Belt Road Initiative a few yeas ago has given a tremendous boost to the infrastructure construction in many countries and thus created a huge demand for commercial vehicles.

Since 2003, Golden Dragon’s export volume has already broken the 50,000 unit threshold. From 2010 to 2016 alone, it exported about 30,000 units buses to 20-plus countries involved, showing a fast growing momentum.
Well known for its pioneering spirit in innovation, Israel warmly welcomes China’s One Belt and One Road Initiative. In recent years, it has been carrying out cooperative programs with China in various areas, such as high technologies, energy and travel industries. With harsh climate conditions, the country is extremely picky when it comes to choosing buses working on its roads.

In 2011, Golden Dragon started cooperation with a local distributor in Israel. In just a few years, the country has seen a fast rising number of Golden Dragon buses working smoothly on its streets. In fact, the bus maker exported its 50,000th unit bus to the country. In June, 2016, Golden Dragon held a press conference in Tel Aviv and released seven bus models to its Israeli customers. Jiang Yonghui revealed that DAN, the second largest bus operator in Israel, used to operate MAN and Benz buses from Europe, but it switched to Golden Dragon’s buses in recent years, which fully meet Euro VI emission standards. As to the end of 2016, the number of Golden Dragon city buses with Euro VI emission standards had reached 420 units.

High standards and harsh requirements from those customers in the high-end bus market have also fueled Golden Dragon’s innovations and boosted its growth. Take the doors for the luggage cabin for example. In the past, two doors were usually the norm. However, European customers just wanted one. Undeterred, Golden Dragon overcame a lot of technical challenges and presented its customers the buses just the way they wanted.

“We are not only delivering our bus products to our overseas customers, we also provide unparalleled services and is determined to stay and grow”, says Jiang Yonghui.
