China Exported 8,808 Buses In Jan.-Feb, with Golden Dragon Topping the List

In February 2025, China's bus export market maintained a relatively rapid growth trend year-on-year. A total of 4,072 large, medium, and light buses were exported, representing a 9.99% increase from the 3,702 units exported in the same period last year, but a 14.02% decrease from the 4,736 units exported in January.

From January to February 2025, China exported a total of 8,808 large, medium, and light buses, marking a cumulative year-on-year increase of 22.27%.

In February 2025, China exported 2,103 large buses, up 12.4% year-on-year; 820 medium buses, a significant increase of 30.16% year-on-year; and 1,149 light buses, down 4.33% year-on-year. Large buses still accounted for the highest export volume, followed by light buses. Although medium buses did not have a prominent export volume, they achieved positive year-on-year and month-on-month growth, demonstrating strong growth momentum.

From January to February 2025, China exported a cumulative total of 4,318 large buses, a slight increase of 0.33% year-on-year; 1,495 medium buses, up 22.74% year-on-year; and 2,995 light buses, a significant increase of 78.06% year-on-year. In terms of cumulative exports, light buses have shown the most impressive growth, while large buses have only achieved slight growth.

In both January and February 2025, the export volume of public transport buses declined year-on-year for two consecutive months. Specifically, in January, the export volumes of large, medium, and light public transport buses all declined year-on-year. In February, while large public transport buses continued to decline year-on-year, medium and light public transport buses achieved positive growth, albeit in small volumes, resulting in an overall year-on-year decline in the export volume of public transport buses. Specifically, in February 2025, China exported 795 large public transport buses, down 6.03% year-on-year; 288 medium public transport buses, up 15.66% year-on-year; and 41 light public transport buses, up 36.67% year-on-year. In February 2025, the total export volume of public transport buses was 1,124 units, down 0.09% year-on-year, and less than half that of seated buses.

First two months: Golden Dragon tops the list, Zhongtong ranks among the top three, Ankai/Ouhui lead in growth. In terms of companies, from January to February 2025, Xiamen Golden Dragon took the crown in bus exports, with a total of 2,074 buses exported, a year-on-year increase of 235.06%. Xiamen King Long ranked second with 1,278 buses exported, up 41.84% year-on-year. Zhongtong Bus ranked third with 968 buses exported. Higer ranked fourth with 803 buses exported, up 52.08% year-on-year. Yutong Bus ranked fifth with 739 buses exported. The top ten also included BYD, JMC Jingma, Foton AUV, Ankai Bus, and AsiaStar Bus.

In February 2025, the top ten Chinese bus exporters were Xiamen King Long (736 units), Xiamen Golden Dragon (701 units), Higer (616 units), Zhongtong Bus (398 units), BYD (351 units), Yutong Bus (312 units), Foton AUV(269 units), Ankai Bus (251 units), JMC Jingma (243 units), and AsiaStar Bus (85 units). Xiamen King Long ranked first, followed by Xiamen Golden Dragon in second place. Higer saw a surge of 151.43%. The export volumes of the six companies ranked fourth to ninth ranged from 200 to 400 units. Ankai Bus saw a surge of 198.81%, BYD increased by 79.08%, and Foton AUV increased by 46.99%.

From January to February 2025, the cumulative export volume of city buses was 2,195 units, down 32.19% year-on-year. Specifically, the export volume of large city buses was 1,724 units, down 33.13% year-on-year; medium city buses was 420 units, down 24.19% year-on-year; and light city buses was 51 units, down 51.43% year-on-year.

From January to February 2025, the top ten exporters of city buses were BYD, Foton AUV, Zhongtong Bus, Yutong Bus, Higer, Ankai Bus, CRRC Electric, Yaxing Bus, Xiamen King Long, and Xiamen Golden Dragon. In the top five, BYD retained its championship, Foton AUV rose from third place in January to second place in the first two months, and Higer rose from eighth place in January to fifth place in the first two months. Among the bottom five in the top ten, Ankai Bus still led the pack, and CRRC Electric rose from ninth place in January to seventh place in the first two months.
