01 July 2025

In May, the total export volume of China's buses (over 3.5 meters) reached 6809 units, a year-on-year increase of 25.35% and a month-on-month increase of 18.71%. After a nearly 17% month-on-month decline in April, the realization of a “double growth” of over 18% in May undoubtedly conveyed more confidence in coach exports and once again strongly proved that export is an important niche supporting market for China buses.

In May, Xiamen King Long maintained its championship with a monthly export sales volume of 1000 units, a year-on-year increase of 17.10%, a month-on-month increase of 9.05%, and a market share of 14.69%. Thus far, it has achieved a “four-peat” from February to May this year.

Yutong remained in second place with export sales of 934 units, a month-on-month increase of 6.74%, and a market share of 13.72%, closely following the champion.

Higer jumped from sixth place in April to third, with export sales of 889 units, a year-on-year increase of 15.30%, a significant month-on-month increase of 124.49%, and a market share of 13.06%.

Among the top ten exporters in May, at least seven companies achieved year-on-year growth. Among them, the company with the highest year-on-year increase was BYD, with a growth rate of 136.05%. Other companies with more than double year-on-year increases included JMC Jingma (126.32%) and Foton AUV (114.92%).

From January to May, the total export volume of the industry was 28256 units, a year-on-year increase of 29.45%.

Specifically, from January to May, Xiamen King Long topped the list with a total export sales volume of 4573 units, a year-on-year increase of 59.06%, and a market share of 16.18%. This marked its first time achieving both monthly and cumulative sales “championships” since the beginning of the year.

Golden Dragon temporarily ranked second with a total export sales volume of 4397 units, a significant year-on-year increase of 94.64%, and a market share of 15.56%.
