China New Energy Bus Exports in May 2025: BYD and Zhongtong Rank Top Two

In May 2025, China exported 6,809 buses (including large, medium, and light buses, excluding exports from traditional light bus companies, hereinafter the same), a year-on-year increase of 25.35% and a month-on-month increase of 18.71%.
In May 2025, China exported 1,514 new energy buses (including large, medium, and light buses, excluding new energy light buses exported by traditional light bus companies, hereinafter the same). This represents a month-on-month increase of 6.85% compared to April's 1,417 units and a year-on-year increase of 55.76% compared to May 2024's 972 units. It is evident that the export market for China's new energy buses in May 2025 showed a dual increase in both year-on-year and month-on-month growth.
In the first five months of 2025, China's cumulative exports of new energy buses reached 5,928 units, with a year-on-year increase of 53.1%, slightly lower than the 57.07% year-on-year growth rate in the first four months of this year, by approximately 0.89 percentage points.
Among the top 5 China new energy buses exporters in May 2025 in terms of sales volume, year-on-year growth, and market share:
Top 1: BYD exported 406 units, Year-on-year growth was 136.05%, month-on-month growth was 6.56%, and its market share was nearly 30% (26.82%).
Top 2: Zhongtong Bus exported 295 units,Year-on-year growth surged by 2,581.82%, month-on-month growth was 15.23%, and its market share was 19.48%.
Top 3: Yutong Bus exported 262 units, Year-on-year growth decreased by 10.88%, but month-on-month growth was a significant 95.52%, with a market share of 17.31%.
Top 4: Xiamen King Long exported 120 units, ranking fourth. Year-on-year growth decreased by 6.25%, month-on-month growth decreased by 56.83%, and its market share was 7.93%.
Top 5: Geely Commercial Vehicles exported 101 units,Year-on-year growth skyrocketed by 1,920%, month-on-month growth was an astonishing 100,000%, and its market share was 6.67%.

Top 1: BYD exported a cumulative total of 1,732 units, ranking first with an absolute advantage. Year-on-year growth was 57.89%.
Top 2: Zhongtong Bus exported a cumulative total of 924 units, ranking second**. Year-on-year growth surged by 1,100%, the highest in the industry.
Top 3: Yutong Bus exported a cumulative total of 676 units, ranking third**. Year-on-year growth decreased by 28.6%.
Top 4: Xiamen King Long exported a cumulative total of 652 units, ranking fourth**. Year-on-year growth was 76.22%.
Top 5: Higer Bus exported a cumulative total of 518 units, with a year-on-year increase of 7.47%.
Top 6: Golden Dragon exported a cumulative total of 517 units, with a year-on-year increase of 240.13%.
