Sales Ranking of Large and Medium-Sized Buses in China in April 2025

In April 2025, sales of large and medium-sized buses (over 6 meters in length, hereinafter the same) in China reached 8,537 units, representing a year-on-year decrease of 21.8% compared to 10,917 units in April 2024. From January to April 2025, cumulative sales of large and medium-sized buses amounted to 37,000 units, showing an 11.99% year-on-year increase from 33,039 units in the same period of 2024.
In April 2025, sales of large and medium-sized new energy buses (over 6 meters, hereinafter the same) were 2,800 units, down 16.14% from 3,339 units in April 2024, and down 28.26% month-on-month.
From January to April 2025, cumulative sales of large and medium-sized new energy buses reached 12,139 units, a 22.09% year-on-year increase from 9,943 units in the first quarter of 2024.
In April 2025, sales of traditional power buses (including diesel, gasoline, and NG-powered buses, all over 6 meters, hereinafter the same) were 5,737 units, down 24.29% from 7,578 units in the same month of 2024.
From January to April 2025, cumulative sales of large and medium-sized traditional power buses were 24,861 units, up 7.8% from 23,056 units in the same period of 2024.
Among the top 8 bus enterprises in terms of sales and year-on-year growth of large and medium-sized traditional power buses over 6 meters in April 2025, the following characteristics were observed:
Yutong Bus took the top spot again in April with 2,124 units sold, a 23.6% month-on-month decrease and a 35.46% year-on-year decrease. It was the only enterprise in the industry with sales exceeding 2,000 units, accounting for nearly 40% (37.02%) of the market.
Golden Dragon Bus sold 665 units, an 8.23% month-on-month increase and a 4.23% year-on-year increase. It was the only enterprise achieving "double growth" in both month-on-month and year-on-year terms, with a remarkable performance and a market share of 11.59%, ranking second.
Zhongtong Bus sold 665 units, ranking third. It achieved a 4.24% month-on-month increase and held a market share of 11.57%.
Xiamen King Long sold 511 units, a 7.76% month-on-month decrease and a 28.23% year-on-year decrease, with a market share of 8.91%, ranking fourth.
Ankai Bus sold 467 units, a 7.34% month-on-month decrease but a 120.2% year-on-year surge, leading the industry in year-on-year growth. It held a market share of 8.14% and ranked fifth in the industry.
Higer Bus sold 424 units, a 5.14% month-on-month decrease and a 42.7% year-on-year decrease, with a market share of 7.39%, ranking sixth.
In terms of year-on-year growth of large and medium-sized traditional power bus sales from January to April 2025:
Yutong Bus had cumulative sales of 7,478 units, a 17.97% year-on-year decrease. It was the only enterprise in the industry with sales exceeding 7,000 units, holding a market share of 31%.
Zhongtong Bus sold 2,589 units in total, a 18.61% year-on-year decrease, with a market share of 10.41%, ranking second.
Golden Dragon Bus had cumulative sales of 2,557 units, a 28.5% year-on-year increase, with a market share of 10.29%, ranking third.
King Long Bus sold 1,795 units in total, a 19.1% year-on-year decrease, with a market share of 7.22%, ranking fourth.
Higer Bus had cumulative sales of 1,648 units, a 24.1% year-on-year decrease, with a market share of 6.63%, ranking fifth.
Ankai Bus sold 1,618 units in total, a 31% year-on-year increase, leading the industry in year-on-year growth. It held a market share of 6.51% and ranked sixth.
