In April 2025, BYD successfully defended its top position, building on its "quadruple crown" in new energy bus export sales for the year 2024 and in January, February, and March. It sold 381 new energy buses, marking a year-on-year increase of 20.19% and a month-on-month increase of 20.57%. This performance secured a market share of 26.89%, an improvement of nearly 6 percentage points from March's 20.90%.
Xiamen King Long made a significant leap from seventh place in March to second place in April, exporting 278 new energy buses. This represented a substantial year-on-year increase of 102.92% and a remarkable month-on-month increase of 327.69%. The company secured a market share of 19.62%, an improvement of over 15 percentage points from March's 4.30%.
Zhongtong Bus continued to hold third place, exporting 256 new energy buses. This marked a staggering year-on-year increase of 4,166.67%, earning it the title of "Year-on-Year Growth Champion" and capturing a market share of 18.07%.
Year-to-Date Performance (January to April 2025)
From January to April 2025, China's total exports of new energy buses amounted to 4,414 units, a year-on-year increase of 52.21%.
Among these, BYD continued to lead the pack with impressive figures: exporting 1,326 new energy buses, a year-on-year increase of 43.35%, and securing a market share of 30.04%, maintaining a significant lead.
Zhongtong Bus rose from third place in the first quarter to second place, exporting 629 new energy buses, a massive year-on-year increase of 853.03%, and achieving a market share of 14.25%, an improvement of nearly 2 percentage points from the first quarter. This performance showcased its outstanding capabilities.
Xiamen King Long jumped from sixth place in the first quarter to third place, exporting 532 new energy buses, a significant year-on-year increase of 119.83%, and securing a market share of 12.05%, an improvement of nearly 4 percentage points from the first quarter. This was a truly eye-catching achievement.
Year-on-Year Growth Highlights
Among the top ten enterprises, seven achieved year-on-year growth. Chery Wanda recorded the highest year-on-year increase at 890.00%. Other enterprises with year-on-year increases exceeding 100% included Zhongtong Bus (853.03%), Golden Dragon Bus (309.32%), and Xiamen King Long (119.83%).
