China Buses Export in March 2025: Saudi Arabia Top for Fuel-Powered; Nepal Lead for Electric

According to customs data from the China Automobile Dealers Association, China exported 8,554 buses in March 2025, marking a 23% year-on-year increase. For the first quarter of 2025, cumulative exports reached 20,135 units, up 20% year-on-year.
Powertrain Breakdown (March & Q1 2025):
Gasoline-powered buses dominated exports, accounting for 63.7% (March) and 63.9% (Q1) of total shipments, with year-on-year growth of 11% and 16%, respectively.
Diesel-powered buses held 17% (March) and 19.3% (Q1) of the market, ranking third and second, respectively.
Battery electric buses (BEBs) represented 19.2% (March) and 16.7% (Q1) of exports, ranking second and third. They surged by 211% and 101% year-on-year, respectively.
Top 10 Export Destinations in March 2025:
Saudi Arabia: 1,110 units (12.98% market share), the sole country exceeding 1,000 units.
Vietnam: 737 units (8.62% share), up 26% YoY.
Peru: 669 units (7.82% share), up 15% YoY.
Egypt: 619 units (7.24% share), up 180% YoY.
All four nations exceeded 500 units with YoY growth.
Other destinations in the top 10 had <5% share; nine markets grew, with Cuba surging 2,178% and Egypt, Ecuador, Malaysia, UAE, and Uzbekistan all doubling exports.

Vietnam: 2,032 units (9.66% share), up 103% YoY.
