China Bus & Coach Sales Jumped by 58.82% Year on Year to Reach 13,055 Units in March

According to the latest statistics, China’s sales volume of buses & coaches measuring in five-meter in length and above reached 13,055 units in March, up by 58.82% year on year and up by 139.71% against that in February this year.

Foton AUV, with a sales volume of 3,193 units buses & coaches, a year-on-year growth rate of 81.2% (22.38 percentage points higher than the industrial average) and a month-on-month growth rate of 153.21% in March, ranked the first place among all players in the market; Yutong was the second with a sales volume of 2,978 units buses & coaches, a year-on-year growth rate of 59.34% and a month-on-month growth rate of 126.64%; Dongfeng Travel Coach came the third with a sales volume of 979 units buses & coaches and a year-on-year growth rate of 179.71% and a month-on-month growth rate of 95.41%; Zhongtong ranked the fourth place, selling 743 units buses & coaches, down by 21.95% year on year and up by 92.99% month on month; then came King Long, which sold 655 units buses & coaches, up by 263.89% year on year and up by 214.9% month on month; Higer ranked the sixth place with a sales volume of 566 units, a year-on-year growth rate of 47.78% and a month-on-month growth rate of 89.3%; BYD was the seventh with a sales volume of 554 units, up by 13.29% year on year and up by 495.7% month on month; Golden Dragon came the eighth with a sales volume of 543 units, up by 150.2% year on year and up by 104.44% month on month; Skywell sold 466 units, up by 4.95% year on year and up by 73.23% month on month, ranking the ninth place; CRRC Electric recorded the highest year on year growth (555.38%) and the highest month on month growth (610.00%) among the top ten players with its sales reaching 426 units, ranking the 10th place.

Also in March, Foton AUV held a market share of 24.46%, up by 3.69 percentage points, ranking the first place in the market; Yutong, with a market share of 22.81%, went up by 0.07 percentage points; Dongfeng Travel Coach saw its market share up by 3.24 percentage points, reaching 7.5% while Zhongtong witnessed a decrease (5.89 percentage points) in its market share (5.69%); King Long recorded a market share of 5.02% (down by 2.83 percentage points); Higer’s market share went down by 0.32 percentage points, standing at 4.34%; BYD’s market share dropped by 1.71 percentage points and stood at 4.24%; Golden Dragon increased its market share by 1.52 percentage points to 4.16%; Skywell went down by 1.83 percentage points and recorded a market share of 3.57%; CRRC Electric increased its market share by 2.47 percentage points to 3.26%. Foton AUV and Yutong, the two leading players in the market, continued to strengthen their presence in the market.

From January to March this year, China sold 28,409 units buses & coaches measuring in five-meter in length and above, up by 42.35% year on year.

In this period, Yutong sold 7,136 units buses & coaches, up by 97.57% year on year, ranking the first place in the market; Foton AUV, with a sales of 6,680 units (up by 115.38% year on year), ranked second place; Dongfeng Travel Coach came the third with a sales volume of 2,400 units and a year on year growth rate of 219.15%; Zhongtong, despite a year-on-year decrease of 25.35%, ranked the fourth place with a sales volume of 1,717 units; King Long increased its sales by 112.52% to 1,494 units, ranking the fifth place; Higer, with a sales volume of 1,468 units (down by 1.28% year on year), ranked the sixth place; Golden Dragon and CRRC Electric, with a sales volume of 1,035 units and 880 units respectively and a growth rate of 7.37% and 163.74% respectively, ranked the seventh and eighth place; Skywell sold 872 units buses and coaches (down by 6.74% year on year) and BYD sold 822 units (up by 31.1% year on year), ranking the ninth and tenth place respectively in the market.

Also in the first quarter, Yutong’s market share reached 25.12%, taking the lead in the market; Foton AUV increased its market share by 6.57 percentage points to 23.51%, ranking the second place; Dongfeng Travel Coach recorded a market share of 8.45%, up by 3.45 percentage points; Zhongtong saw its market share down by 5.48 percentage points, standing at 6.04%; King Long went up by 1.74 percentage points, reaching 5.26% in its market share; Higer and Golden Dragon had a market share of 5.17% and 3.64% respectively, down by 2.28 percentage points and 1.19 percentage points respectively; CRRC Electric had a market share of 3.1%, up by 1.43 percentage points; Skywell’s market share decreased by 1.67 percentage points to 3.07%; BYD’s market share went down slightly by 0.25 percentage points to 2.89%.
