King Long Strengthens Overall Competitiveness in Special Vehicle Market

12 January 2021

On January 9, King Long Special Vehicle Department First Business Conference was held. At the conference, a wide spectrum of King Long special vehicles falling in four categories were put on display, fully showcasing the company’s formidable strengths in the special vehicle market.

On the same day, King Long held a live streaming show online, providing great opportunities for customers across China to take a closer look at the company’s special vehicles in four different categories, including medical care vehicles (ambulances, health check vehicles, vaccine transportation vehicles, PCR nucleic acid testing vehicles, etc.), business reception vehicles, vehicles for engineering projects, logistics, and scenic spots, as well as vehicles for such special purposes as public security, telecommunication, urban governance, fire-fighting and environmental protection.

In August, 2020, King Long established Special Vehicle Department by restructuring its Special Vehicle business and its two business branches in Shaoxing and Xiamen, marking its official entry into the new market. The move also signifies the bus maker’s determination to upgrade its business. So far, its Special Vehicle Department boasts two production bases in Xiamen and Shaoxing with total production space of over 30,000 square meters and a team of over 200 engineers and technicians.

In earlier 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19 made huge impacts on China’s auto industry. In the face of a host of challenges, King Long was forced to reexamine its business and seek new business opportunities.

Along with the fast development of China’s economy, special vehicles are playing an increasingly important role in people’s lives. After witness a fast growing momentum in four consecutive years, the special vehicle market became the biggest part of China’s commercial vehicle market in 2019.

As one of the pioneers in China’s special vehicle market, King Long has successfully developed China’s first units luxury A-type recreational vehicle, China’s first health check-up vehicle, and China’s first CT-scanning vehicle.

In 2020 alone, the new born Special Vehicle Department witnessed a 300% jump in its business. Several special vehicles were rolled out to the market. For the whole, the department sold over 200 units ambulances, 100+ DR health check-up vehicles, over 30 units high-end CT vehicles, and over 40 units PCR nucleic acid testing vehicles.
